Alyssa Santia - Montague, New Jersey

I'm in NJ as well, in Morris County. The last few years we've been charging $85 for doz. arranged during v-day, this year we're thinking of going to $90.

Sylvia Harris in Texas, A Pleasant Grove Florist

In TX 89.99, normal 69.99, so not much upped but we have a higher price to pay this year and we do offer a box of choc for free if ordered by 2/1. For all the ones that come on 2/14 in the afternoon, they might be out of luck and have to settle for mixed bouquets.

Ours are 65 to 85 depends on the roses. Some may even be more. Wholesale costs this year are up again...

Ann Engelbrecht, The Woodlands, Texas

A way to cover expenses is to offer filler, blooming branches, ribbon and vase upgrades at $10 - $15 a piece. A standard bouquet may be 12 roses and leather leaf BUT then we give upgrade choices and and they pick the ones they think are 'worth' it. My cleints spend on average $115 per dozen. That's a standard dozen with all three upgrades. Don't be shy to ask. McDonalds started asking 'want fries with that?" and now we all have fries and a drink and think of it as a 'value meal'!

Mary LaDale Smith - Mary's Flowers, Saint Peter, Minnesota

This year we upped our dozens from 59.95 to 74.95. Wholesale cost is up.

In past years, I have always had two grades of roses a 60cm charlott for 65 and 75 and a premium 70 cm freedom or forever young for 85 and 95...This year I am only having the premium, without the need to have a less expensive option for wore orders that are too low I would just rather have the premium and looking back on my revords too few of my own customers even bought the less expensive option...

We are in North East Ohio, very rural, normally our roses arranged are $65.00, we are thinking of upping them to $70.00, but we don't want to go to high, so that is up in the air right now. But I usually DO call other Florists BEFORE I send out ANY roses around Valentine's Day, just to make sure of their prices.
